“A disturbing, yet beautifully composed narrative told in three parts, The Vegetarian is an allegorical novel about modern day South Korea, but also a story of obsession, choice, and our faltering attempts to understand others, from one imprisoned body to another.”
I am really looking forward to this book for a few reasons. I am a big fan of South Korean culture in general. I am especially excited about feminine perspectives, and anything subversive. Han Kang has been lauded greatly for this book, and I’m hoping it will be strange and maybe a little scary. Full review here.
